My life became
a joyful mess.

3 kids, a house stuck in permanent renovation, and admin tasks piling up without a break. My phone's calendar warned me 5 minutes before my appointments — I sometimes needed 30 to get there, great! As for my to-dos, they vanished into the black hole of my notepad. So I built myself an app: Balm. I've used it daily for 2 years. Over time, I've improved it a ton, and now, I'm sharing it.

My story

Spoiler: I tried everything first.

I made a notes app on my phone. Two months later, I had a mile-long to-do list — and barely any of it done.

So I managed my tasks by spamming myself with emails. Lasted six months, got me nowhere.

A leaky faucet, train tickets, the grocery list — I then started dumping them into a calendar that became unreadable.

Three failed attempts later, my head was still just as full. Cool... So I built my own app.

What I built

So I coded what I actually needed.

Reminders with the right lead time. Tasks that stay tasks. Nothing lost in translation. Simple, right?

Reminders with lead time

Reminders for appointments AND for tasks (pay your taxes before May 30th). It warns you early enough to actually make it. And you can add more lead time.

Real task lists, and a grocery list too

A doctor's appointment, a bike to fix, and school supplies to buy don't get mixed together. But it's all in one place: in Balm.

A forward-looking assistant

Balm simply tells you what you need to do today, tomorrow, and over the next 7 days — so you can plan ahead.
